New Sarah Waters novel to be published in 2009

Sarah Water’s newest novel will be a ghost story set in the 1940s.

The novel, called ‘The Little Stranger’, is set in a crumbling rural Warwichshire manor house haunted by ‘a dying way of life - and perhaps by something more sinister’, according to book group Little Brown.

The Little Stranger will be published by Virago in the UK, and the expected publish date is June 2009.

Sarah Waters’ has written four other critically-acclaimed novels: Tipping the Velvet, Affinity, Fingersmith and The Night Watch.
