LGBT people more likely to trust in internet dating

Lesbians and gay men are more likely to believe that they will find long-lasting relationships through internet dating than their straight counterparts, according to a new survey.
A survey of 1,013 people - conducted by LGBT website QUOD.TV in association with Stonewall - found that 51% of LGBT people believed internet dating might lead to true love, compared to just 36% of straight people.
The survey also found that 61% of LGBT people who are currently without partners are “happy to be single”. Of those polled, only 26% of those in a relationship have been in it for longer than six months.
“In the 21st century there’s no shame in being single and loving it,” said QUOD.TV’s Colin Fallesen of the survey, “although the internet is one of the preferred ways to change your single status!”
