Obama definitely axing ‘Don’t ask don’t tell’ policy

Robert Gibbs January 12th, 2009

Barack Obama’s press team has reiterated the president-elect’s commitment to abolishing the ban on gay people serving in the US army.

In a video posted on Obama’s website, press secretary Robert Gibbs answered questions submitted by the general public.

In answer to the question “Is the new administration going to get rid of the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy?” Gibbs responded “You don’t hear a politician give a one-word answer much, but it’s yes.”

Obama has yet to announce when the ban will be lifted.
