Spielberg donates $100,000 to save California gay marriage

Steven Spielberg has joined Brad Pitt in donating $100,000 to protect gay marriage rights in California.
In a statement, Spielberg said: “By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation. Such discrimination has NO place in California’s constitution, or any other.”
The LA Times reports that those in favour of Proposition 8, which seeks to ban same-sex marriage, have so far raised $18million. Those in favour of gay marriage have now raised$12.4 million.
