Top policeman joins Brighton Equality Walk

The top boss of Brighton Police will take part in Stonewall’s Equality Walk in the city this weekend.
Chief Superintendent Graham Bartlett has joined the line-up for the event on Sunday (2 May), which will also include L Word and Go Fish screenwriter Guinevere Turner and Brighton & Hove deputy mayor Garry Peltzer Dunn.
The 10km walk around Brighton aims to raise money for Stonewall’s Education for All programme, which tackles gay bullying in schools.
Michaela Greene, Stonewall’s deputy director of fundraising, said: “Teachers can struggle to acknowledge that different families exist – and this has an impact on children and young people. By working with primary schools, we can reduce this impact and make school a safe and inclusive environment for all children.”
Registration for the event, which is supported by American Express, costs £10 and the top fundraiser will win a weekend break for two in Paris, plus £500 spending money.
