Sir Elton John, who has just had a baby with his partner David Furnish through a surrogate mother, is believed to have chosen two of his oldest friends, lesbian couple Ingrid Sischy and Sandy Brant, as the godparents of two-week-old Zachary.
According to the Daily Mail, New York-based magazine editor Sischy has been friends with the singer and his partner for a long time and holiday together in Africa every year. They also spent Christmas 2010 together in Los Angeles.

Sischy, 58, who is South African, but was educated in Edinburgh in the 1960s, now lives in New York with her partner Brant. She has five children already from a former marriage to an American billionaire.

Sir Elton, who is himself already godfather to 10 children, including all three of David Beckham’s children, refused to comment on the claims about Zachary’s godparents, stating it was a “private matter”
