LGBT people more concerned about the environment, study finds
A recent Harris Poll has found that LGBT adults in the US express more concern about the environment than straight people. Although “green attitudes” are rising in the LGBT community, the Poll also found that the overall number of people holding such views is falling .
In an online survey of 2,352 adults, 347 described themselves as LGBT. Of this number, 55 percent said that they “personally care a great deal about the current state and future of the environment,” compared with 33 percent of heterosexuals.
The poll, conduced in mid-November 2010, also found that 40 percent of LGBT adults say they “encourage others to be more environmentally friendly”. Only 24 percent of heterosexuals behave similarly.
The number of LGBT adults describing themselves as “environmentally conscious” has leaped to 47 percent from 38 percent in the 2009 survey. This figure has, however, fallen from 30 to 28 percent among straight respondees.
In conclusion, Harris Interactive said:”American adults overall are now less likely than they were in the summer of 2009 to espouse certain ‘green’ attitudes and engage in various environmentally friendly activities.”

I don’t think ‘leap’ is quite the right verb to use…
(or you have your statistics mixed)
A rise of around a quarter in a year seemed significant enough to justify “leaped”. Just to reassure you though, the statistics are not mixed.
Thanks for the comment.
Ugh, sorry. My mistake. I read it wrong. Ignore me!
Hi,
Not only the LGBT adults but each and every people should be “environmentally conscious”. Now it’s high time for us to make use of the environment friendly ways like tidal energy, solar energy. Make use of the Solar Panel Systems as they don’t pollute the environment.
