‘I kissed a girl/I liked it/I went to hell’ sign gets makeover

September 10th, 2008

Last week an Ohio church cheerfully displayed the uplifting message ‘I KISSED A GIRL I LIKED IT THEN I WENT TO HELL’. Now anonymous vandals have created a more permanent (and positive) sign:

  • I only heard the lyrics of this song yesterday, turned me on! then when searching through the loads of stuff on online came across this.
At some point in time someone has to stand up to religious people and tell them that they are mind warped brain deads.
If someone came out tomorrow telling stories about how some greater force with loads of wisdom was the way forward, they would be put in a mental home. And thats where everyone who believes in god should be!
Good luck with the girl thing, I am definetely coming back as one!
Peace on earth and good sex for everyone.

  • If that’s the case, then I say I can’t wait to go to hell! Going to be the best place to pull!

  • GAY= God Adores You

I love that, I guess if there is a god, it must be true, because if we weren’t adored then why would be given the world and why would we be given the need to be loved so much?

Agreed, if kissing a girl means I’m going to Hell, then it’s worth it! But if I kiss more than one girl then where do I go, lol.

  • Hehe I love how their stupid hate sign had the opposite effect on everybody :P

    Lara ∼ March 23rd, 2009 11:27 am
  • As an additional point, they are scaring poor red-blooded heterosexual men with that sign! Think of all the teenage boys and young men who’ll go off and engage in the sin of self pleasuring or start having kissy gropey orgies just like sodom and gomorrah with their male peers after seeing the message presented, just thinking about it is making my 20 year old self really frustrated! You can always count on fundies to say the darndest things. I’ve been in devon before, so I think I’d like to see what hull is like.

    RadFemHedonist ∼ March 27th, 2009 9:32 pm
  • Fundamentalists say the darndest things…

As ex-Bishop JS Spong points out, fundamentalism grows where people are least educated in their religion’s history and theology. I’d expand it to include any belief system, religious or otherwise.

I love the vandalism - it’s the sort of nonviolent assertion of human dignity that I think Jesus would advocate if he turned up in person today.

  • i am a christianand this is the sot of thing i hate most the bible says that we should not condem others but love everone some 1 who supports the orginal sign cannot be living a christian life just making them a hipocrit it is possible to be close to the father but not to have a relationship with god the only way to hevean is by having a relationship with the lord jesus christ

    ryan ∼ July 23rd, 2009 5:11 am
  • A church near where I work adopted this slogan. It made me feel like utter crap, not because I believed it, but because I am Christian and it reminds how cruel and hypocritical fundamentalists can be. And how most Christians won’t believe me when I say that I believe in God but that I’m also attracted to women.

  • Vandalize a Church, wow, that’ll convince’em….

    John Busker ∼ September 7th, 2009 6:23 pm
  • Thats funny when I went to church it felt like I was in hell.

Let’s get real…everybody who goes to church are sinners we all know that. Sometimes they are the worst people you’ll ever meet

Jesus taught the human race we should love…but all those people do is hate.
