Katy Perry: ‘I kissed a girl and I exploited it…’
July 21st, 2008
So after months of airplay in the USA, Katy Perry’s ‘I kissed a girl’ has finally reached the UK mainstream! Ladies, set your hearts to ‘flutter’ and/or your stomachs to ‘puke’ and get set for some seriously catchy bicurious pop:
If you can’t see the video, here’s a taste of the chorus:
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it
Over at The F Word Laura Woodhouse has written a brilliantly readable analysis of the song’s lyrics, but what about you, dear Lesbilicious readers? What do you think?
Is Katy meant to be a straight girl trying to turn on her boyfriend? A slutty bi girl who doesn’t care about her man? A closeted lesbian with a big ol’ crush?
(Or does she just really really like cherry chapstick?)

well she strokes a pussycat…metaphor anyone???

As for katy perrys sexuality. She could be anything really. A gay who doesn’t give a shit. A bisexualy who als dosen’t give a shit or a stright who clearly dose give one and wants everyone to know what experimenting with your sexualty i definatly a good thing!
