Lindsay Lohan facing 90 days in jail

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in prison by a court in California after violating the terms of her probation from a 2007 case.
Lohan, 24, had failed to attend alcohol education classes, as ordered by a court after pleading guilty to misdemeanour drug charges and guilty to three driving charges.
However, the judge today sentenced Lohan to 90 days in prison, beginning on 20 July. She will also have to enter an in-patient rehabilitation programme after her release.
The actress, who has been in an on-off relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson, burst into tears on hearing the verdict.
She told the judge: “I did everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and showing up.”
It is not the actress and singer’s first trip to prison - she served 84 minutes behind bars in 2007 after pleading guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of drink driving and one of reckless driving.
Lohan has been wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet since May this year after she failed to show up at a probation hearing. Her lawyers claimed she had missed the hearing because she was unable to fly from France where she had lost her passport.
