The headliners for this year’s Manchester Pride will include Beverley Knight and Belinda Carlisle, organisers confirmed today (26 May).

Other acts scheduled to play on the August Bank Holiday weekend include British synthpop specialists Heaven 17, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary, local Mancunian band May68, The Sticks and Sam Gray. Also on the bill are show regulars Four Poofs & A Piano, of the Friday Night With Jonathan Ross show fame.

Early bird tickets for the city’s Big Weekend, which runs from 27-30 August, are available for £12.50 up until the end of June. After this period, they go up to £17.50.

Festival director Jackie Crozier said: “We’re extremely excited to be welcoming Beverley Knight back for the second time - she’s a fantastic performer who really gets the crowd going. It’s also great to be adding some local acts to the line-up.”

The festival is still looking for volunteers for Manchester Pride. For more information or if you would like to register as a volunteer, contact Jackie Crozier on 0161 831 7700 or visit www.manchesterpride.com.
