New York Times censors word ‘gay’ from mobile service
‘Gay’ is a swearword, according to the New York Times.
Its mobile phone service has been found by a blogger at Towleroad to automatically replace ‘gay’ with the word ‘beep’ – even when ‘gay’ appeared on the newspaper’s website in its original form.
The newspaper has yet to respond to criticisms of the censorship.
