New York teachers ‘facing misconduct charges after classroom affair’

Two New York high school teachers that were allegedly discovered naked together in a classroom have been charged with misconduct, according to reports.
French teacher Cindy Mauro, 34, and married Spanish teacher Alini Brito, 30, were allegedly found in the empty classroom having sex by a janitor who reported them to officials last November. It is thought that the rest of the school was attending a talent show performance at the auditorium at the time.
The pair, who teach at James Madison High School in Brooklyn, both deny the accusations, according to the New York Daily News, and a lawyer for the teachers said their careers were “being irreparably harmed by unfounded rumours and innuendo”.
US Department of Education officials reportedly said they have substantiated the misconduct charges and are “in the process of charging them”.
It is the second scandal to hit the school, following the charges brought against female teacher Allison Musacchio who is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a male student.
