Say it to Sappho: my mum massaged her head with my vibrator!

Sappho February 6th, 2009 by Sappho

“Dear Sappho. The most embarrassing thing ever in the world happened to me. I am sharing this because it is my way of letting go. I also need some advice. I spent £30 on a really cool clit stimulator. I had it in my top drawer in my bedroom…as you do.

My mum was visiting, came into my room one morning and whilst I was slowly waking up I realised she was reaching into the drawer. She picked up the little box that the toy was in and asked me what it was - as she was opening the box. I tried to keep my cool and answered that it was a ‘h-ead ma-ssager’. She replied ‘oh right’. Phew, I thought. Until she proceeded to massage her head… arrgghh!

I cannot use that vibrator again. All I could think was ‘that’s been on my vagina, that’s been on my vagina’. I have only used it a couple of times. I can’t throw it away, it was £30! What should I do with it?” Amanda, 24, London

Option 1 - get over yourself, pretend it never happened, and get your money’s worth.

Option 2 - give it to a charity shop.

Option 3 - sell it on ebay.

Option 4 - offer it to a friend.

Option 5 - offer it to your mum so that she can massage her head more often.

In future, you might want to consider a more effective hiding place.

  • i can empathise amanda. i once had really cold toes and looked away for a brief second only then to see my mam sucking them “to bring back the blood”. T’was a shame, I used to be partial to the odd toe tonguing but I fear never again. Not that I’d suggest you never use your toy again, that would just be a waste, just block it out…..

  • Option 6, give it to your next friend who has a birthday. She’ll never know its sordid history. Do charity shops actually take sex toys?
