Sex toy review: Ling-o

Ling-o May 14th, 2010

Last week, I nearly had a very embarrassing accident, writes Vivien Grey. It would have been awkward for my girlfriend to have explained to the paramedics “well, you see, she swallowed a vibrator.”

Luckily, the Ling-O, one of Sh!’s best-selling vibrators, is just a little too large to prevent a serious choking hazard. This is why you should always read the instructions first, whether it’s a new microwave or a sex toy.

Once I’d recovered from my near-death experience and we’d managed to get the romantic mood back, we tried again. This time, slotting the ring of the purple silicone vibrator firmly onto my tongue, I got comfy between my other half’s legs and…well. I’m sure you don’t need me to go into details.

Let me just say that if you’re even remotely insecure about your oral sex technique, don’t use this - because afterwards, you’re going to feel a hell of a lot worse. Once she’d recovered from multiple O’s – a feat I’ve only managed to pull of…um…singlehandly once or twice in our five year relationship and I was sitting in bed sulking, she offered to demonstrate the power of the Ling-O.

I’ll admit, I’d been skeptical at first. Cunnilingus? Great. Vibrators? Awesome. The two together… overkill, surely? Let me say, I’ve never been so happy to be wrong in my life. I’ve found that previous vibrators have been too strong, resulting in uncomfortable numbness in a place where I do not want to be numb. Others aren’t strong enough, and light tickling may work on some people, but those people are not me. This was like Goldilocks’ porridge – just right.

The main advantage to having this cute little toy designed to fit around the tongue is that smaller movements seem to produce the most effect. And whilst I think my girlfriend’s natural ability (and general hotness) had something to do with the fact that all I remember from the experience is a general feeling of ohmygodpleasedon’tstop, I’m pretty sure that the Ling-O played its part as well.

Its size makes it extremely portable, and the almost inaudible buzz means that you really can take it anywhere – not that we tried, honest – provided you can keep your own noise to a minimum.
I’d recommend it without hesitation – but be quick, I’m thinking of heading to Sh! and stocking up, just in case…
