The L Word creator developing new show
Ilene Chaiken, creator of both The L Word and it’s reality series spin-off, The Real L Word, is developing a new show about a lesbian doctor.
US entertainment magazine Variety reports that CBS Television Studios, where Chaiken previously worked on Deliverance Dane, has commissioned the new one-hour series.
The show, called Rhodes to Recovery, focuses on the relationship between a lesbian trauma surgeon and her straight male colleague, which is thrown into turmoil when one starts dating the other’s ex-wife.
Chaiken, whose planned The L Word spin-off The Farm was dropped by rival network Showtime before the pilot episode was completed, will also executive-produce the new show.
