Martina Navratilova has breast cancer

Tennis ace Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with breast cancer, according to reports.
The out lesbian tennis star told the Good Morning America show that she found out in February that she had an aggressive form of ductal carcinoma in situ, known as the earliest form of breast cancer.
She had a lumpectomy in February and is now set to undergo six weeks of radiation treatment in May.
“It is just in that one breast,” the 54-year-old told show presenter Robin Roberts. “I’m okay and I’ll make a full recovery.”
She said finding out the news had been her “personal 9/11″.
Nine-time Wimbledon champion Navratilova, who was runner-up in 2008’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, said the cancer was diagnosed during a routine mammogram.
“The reason I wanted to speak out about this is to encourage these women to have mammograms… I just want to encourage women to have that yearly check-up,” she added.
