Sam Fox on ‘I’m a celebrity…’

The 2009 series of ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!’ has launched – with 3 openly gay contestants.
Amongst the 11 celebrities who will be eating insects in the Australian outback are former page 3 model and singer Sam Fox, and TV interior designers and real-life partners Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister.
“I’m not scared of much,” Fox told unrealitytv.com. “I love all the high-wire stuff. I’ve done a lot of boot camps, a lot of mountain climbing, coasteering and stuff, so I’m really into that kind of outdoor way of life.”
However, Fox is not so keen on creepy crawlies: “When there’s a spider in the house or my cat brings a baby rat or something in it’s just the end of the world, I have to call somebody. Two women live in the house, so you can imagine – ‘Help’.
“I’m going to do my best to conquer my fears in the jungle. I’ll just keep saying to myself that nothing is going to kill me.
“I would love to be able to come home from the jungle and Myra, my partner, say to me: ‘Sam there’s a dead rat in the kitchen, or the biggest spider – can you get it?’ I’ll feel really proud of myself if I do.”
Sam Fox came out as bisexual in 2003, and in 2009 entered into a civil partnership with her long-term partner and manager, Myra Stratton.
Other stars of the 2009 ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!’ include Mis-Teeq singer Sabrina Washington, Kim Woodburn from ‘How Clean Is Your House’, ex-EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin, Dynasty actor George Hamilton and Hollyoaks actor Stuart Manning.
