Tell the press what you think about lesbian representation in films
March 19th, 2010
A journalist from the Independent on Sunday wants to hear what you think about the portrayal of lesbian/bisexual women in film, particularly if you’ve seen Julianne Moore’s new film Chloe.
“Some viewers have complained that the storyline featuring Amanda Seyfried as a bisexual psycho killer is just another example of lesbian and bisexual women being portrayed negatively in film,” says journalist Rachel Shields. “What do you think about the way that lesbian women are portrayed in films?”

havent seen it because i read reviews and it looked sh*t! I’m sick of watching films that just have lesbians in to titilate men.
M-Ann ∼ March 21st, 2010 7:17 pmIt’s really sickening because lesbianism truly is hot and adorable. It wasn’t this way b4. What the heck happened to the directors of Imagine me and you. The World Unseen and D.E.B.S. Lesbianism should be portrayed as romantic and irrisitable.Bisexuality also. Not…sickly deranged and desperate.
Leigh ∼ March 25th, 2010 5:48 amLesbians are always under represented. ALWAYS. Broke back mountain did not need to have lots of sex or naked bodies. It had a good storyline but it was accepted because it was gay men. Milk was accepted because once again it was a gay man. Women regardless of sexuality are seen as sex objects as a general rule. Lesbianism is never taken seriously and people find it acceptable to laugh and say its a mans fantasy. Im guessing not for the real lesbian though!!!!
michelle ∼ April 16th, 2010 11:49 pmi think filmakers have a hard time finding a medium when having a lesbian characters. They always go from one extreme to another, EX: L word, you have a dyke chick “shane” and a bunch of lipstick lesbians…….like where’s the in-between? in reality, not all lesbians look like model status, soccer moms, with slender hot bodies. some are short stubby, older and have horrible taste in clothing lol it’s the truth. So with that being said, I hope i shed some light on this whole topic. =]
