Write for us
Lesbilicious is relaunching in 2012, and the new look Lesbilicious will offer a lesbian / bisexual response to current affairs.
‘Current affairs’ for us means anything in the news which has an impact on us as lesbian / bisexual women. It could be changes in the law concerning gay marriage, a celebrity flirting with lesbianism for publicity, or a radio DJ making some homophobic comments. If you have an opinion about what’s going on in the world and you can express it well, we’d love you to write for Lesbilicious.
Since writing for an online magazine can sometimes be an isolating experience, we’ll be organising regular events to get all the writers together to meet each other and share ideas. We can’t pay you, but we will cover your expenses to meet-ups and pass on any freebies or tickets we get sent.
We’d need you to be able to commit to one or two articles a month, and passion is more important to us than experience, so if you’re a student or starting out in a writing career then this could be an excellent way to develop good writing experience and make some useful contacts. Previous Lesbilicious writers have gone on to work for publications such as The Guardian, Diva, G3, Pink News and the BBC.
We’re keen for our writing team to represent some of the diversity within the lesbian / bisexual / queer community, and we don’t expect our writers to share the same ideas or political viewpoints. However, please note that Lesbilicious is explicitly pro-feminism, pro-bisexuality and pro-trans.
If you’re interested in joining the Lesbilicious team or you’d like any more information, please email milly@lesbilicious.co.uk.
